1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how FMC Trading & Logistics Co. Ltd. (“FMC”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies, similar technologies, and browser storage in connection with this website.

It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small data files stored on a user’s device when visiting a website. Similar technologies — including a browser’s local and session storage — can support basic functionality, security, performance monitoring, and remembering preferences.

This site is largely cookieless: it relies on privacy-first, cookieless analytics and on your browser’s own storage rather than on tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage (not only cookies) will reset preferences such as your display theme and your cookie choice, and will cause the consent prompt described below to appear again.

3. What We Use

What we use falls into three groups:

• Strictly necessary — Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-protection check on our contact and job-application forms, which may set a challenge cookie or use browser storage to tell genuine visitors from automated ones. These are required for the site to work securely and are not subject to consent.
• Functional (browser storage, not server cookies) — small values kept in your browser to remember your display theme, your cookie choice, and a short-lived record of your region. These remain in your browser and are not sent to FMC as cookies.
• Performance measurement (consent-gated in the EEA and UK) — Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless measurement tool. It sets no cookies, performs no cross-site tracking, and is never used for behavioural advertising. See section 4.

We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising, cross-site advertising profiles, or resale of browsing data.

4. Performance Measurement

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page-load performance, site reliability, and aggregate usage patterns. It is cookieless — it sets no cookies and does not identify or track individual visitors across sites. Performance data is processed by Cloudflare as our infrastructure and analytics provider; IP address and browser information are seen at the time of a request and are not stored by FMC to build a per-user profile.

For visitors outside the EEA and the UK, this cookieless analytics runs automatically. For visitors in the EEA and the UK, it loads only after consent — see section 5.

Analytics is never used for behavioural advertising, cross-site advertising profiles, or resale of browsing data.

5. Your Choices & Consent

For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before any non-essential performance measurement loads. A short prompt appears as you browse: if you choose Accept, our cookieless analytics runs; if you choose Decline — or make no choice — no analytics loads at all. Visitors outside the EEA and UK receive the same privacy-first, cookieless analytics without a prompt.

Your choice is stored in your browser (not on our servers), and you can change or withdraw it at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer, which re-opens the prompt. You may also control or clear cookies and site storage through your browser settings; doing so may reset your preferences and cause the consent prompt to appear again. Strictly necessary and functional items (section 3) are required for the site to function and remain in use regardless of your analytics choice.

6. Third-Party Services

Where we use third-party infrastructure or performance services — including Cloudflare for hosting, security, bot protection, and cookieless analytics — they are used for hosting, security, reliability, traffic measurement, and website performance monitoring. They are not used by FMC for behavioural advertising.

7. Regulatory Context

FMC operates in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy regulations, including the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong. For visitors in the EEA and the UK, we also apply the consent standard of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and applicable ePrivacy rules — which is why the consent prompt described in section 5 is shown to those visitors.

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or operational practices.
