Home & Lifestyle Products

Platform Overview.

Home and lifestyle is a volume game decided in the last mile: furniture, kitchenware, textiles and seasonal ranges that have to be on the shelf the week demand peaks, not the week after. FMC sources and stages these goods so a retailer’s reorder is filled from stock, not a fresh six-week sailing.

We buy from global manufacturers and hold the depth that keeps fast lines available, because an empty shelf in a consumer category is a sale that simply goes to someone else.

A seasonal range sells in a six-week window; we pre-position stock so reorders ship the same day, not the next sailing.

Operating Layer.

We forecast against a retailer’s sell-through and replenish before stock runs down, so a promotion or a seasonal peak is met from the shelf rather than from an apology and a backorder.

Suppliers are chosen for the ability to repeat a product to spec at volume, run after run, because a kettle or a cushion cover that varies between batches generates returns no margin recovers.

Mixed pallets are built to a store’s planogram and cross-docked where speed matters, cutting a step out of the journey from container to shelf.

Control & Compliance.

In consumer goods the cost of a fault is the return, the refund and the customer who does not come back.

Products are checked against the safety marks the destination market requires — electrical approvals, flammability ratings, food-contact certificates — before they enter saleable stock.

Goods inwards inspection samples each delivery, so a batch that misses specification is caught at the warehouse rather than at the customer’s door.

Systems Infrastructure.

Stock is visible at SKU level across the network, so an order is filled from the location that ships fastest and fast lines are flagged for reorder before they sell through.

Returns are tracked back to their cause, turning a recurring fault into a supplier conversation rather than a quietly absorbed cost.

An empty shelf forgives no one; the shopper just buys the next brand along.
We keep the fast lines in stock and the slow ones honest.
